The Club will provide 1,300 pitches near the Olympics. The Caravan Club is to open a temporary site in north-east London to give members easy access to Olympic and Paralympic venues in 2012. The Caravan Club Chigwell Temporary Site will be close to Central Line tube stations, which means less than a 15-minute commute to the game’s location in Stratford. The site will cater for 1,300 outfits per night throughout the Olympic Games and Paralympic Games and will be open from July 25 to September 11, 2012. Caravans, motorhomes and trailer tents are welcome.

Located on Old Farm in Chigwell, the site has poignant provenance in the athletic world as it was the childhood home of Sally Gunnell OBE, Olympic, World, European and Commonwealth Champion, who will be making a special appearance on a date yet to be announced.

Website bookings for the Caravan Club Chigwell Temporary Site will be available from May 5, 2011 (members only) and telephone bookings from June 13, 2011. Site fees cost £30 per night with electric hook-up, or £25 per night without electric hook-up and all pitches will be on grass.
